American River Parkway

Ancil Hoffman golf course was once listed as one of AmericaÍs top courses by Golf Digest. Many new courses with fancy designs and more modern accommodations pushed Hoffman off the list. This traditional golf course is still a jewel and will test golfers of any ability.

Anglers will enjoy fishing any time of year. The different seasons bring a variety of fish like the striped bass, king salmon, steelhead, catfish, carp, sturgeon and rainbow trout. Bank fishing is the easiest from the riverÍs northwest bank but boat fishing is the most successful as you can search out deep holes in the Sacramento River bed.

The American River Parkway's Jedediah Smith Memorial Trail offers hikers, cyclists and horseback riders prime opportunities for outdoor recreation, nature viewing and relaxation. The natural scenic setting is ideal for bird watching. Enjoy the 30 mile stretch of the glorious outdoors.
Lake Oroville State Recreation Area

Just 75 miles north of Sacramento, is Lake Oroville offering a wide variety of activities. There is a museum with exhibits and a tower with high powered telescopes allowing you to view the spectacular panorama of the lake, the valley and Sierra Nevada Mountain range. The park also features camping, boating, a state-of the-art horse camp and floating campsites, two story houseboats moored in a cove.
Sutter's Landing Regional Park

In the spring skateboarders enjoy the skate program this park provides. Under supervision, Skateboarders are invited to practice their talent on the quarter pipes, fun boxes and grind rails. Protective gear is required!
